Pioneer of the sitcom in India, Manjul Sinha directed the path-breaking television series Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi in 1983-85. He went to create, produce, and direct several more shows such as P A Sa'ab, Jee Sa'ab, Mumbai Meri Jaan, and was a co-director on the hugely popular Naya Nukkad. Comedy was always a forte but later he turned to the doumentary and serious fiction with significant one-hour films for various television channels that went on win several awards.
