The story revolves around a greedy Hindu diamond merchant, a Muslim village doctor and a Christian doctor. The merchant and his driver, both high caste Hindus, have two sons and two daughters respectively. The children get separated. One boy grows up as a Muslim and falls in love with the girl brought up as a Christian. The other boy and girl are brought up as Hindus, with the girl growing up in the slums. Finally after much drama, twists and turns, the lovers are united and the diamond merchant arrested.
